ZERO LITTERING DAY AT VFIS: AWAKENING YOUNG ECO-HEROES
1. Zero Littering Day: When Green Theory Turns into Real Action
The 2026 journey of awakening environmental awareness by the Green Turtle Hero (AHRX) project has officially kicked off with its first stop: the Vietnam-Finland International School (VFIS).
With the core message of “Zero Littering,” the event attracted more than 150 young heroes aged 6 to 11. Here, waste segregation and recycling were no longer dry classroom lessons but a passionate, creative journey where every child could become a “savior” for our green planet.
2. Exploring the 6 Irresistible Challenge Stations of Our Young Heroes
To earn the title of Green Turtle Hero, the students at VFIS had to conquer a series of 6 challenge stations designed around the “Learn through Play – Play to Learn” model:
Station 1: Waste Sorting Secrets from the Green Turtle Hero
Opening the journey, the young heroes watched fun animated clips. Knowledge about waste sorting at the source was delivered in a witty way, helping the kids easily memorize it and get ready to practice immediately.
Station 2: 3D Turtle Mascot Workshop
Handcrafting skills took center stage as the students cut, pasted, and assembled their own 3D Turtle Mascot models. This meaningful souvenir serves as a gentle reminder of the connection between humans and ocean creatures.
Station 3: “Sort it Right” Relay Race
The atmosphere heated up with a high-energy physical race. The mission for our young heroes was simple: Run fast, observe closely, and sort the waste accurately into the corresponding categories (non-recyclable, organic, and recyclable).
Stations 4 & 5: Upcycled Toy Arena
Transforming into young “inventors,” the children turned old cardboard boxes, paper cups, and straws into unique toys. Right after that, these creations were brought to compete at the Toy Arena, making for some thrilling and fun matches.
Station 6: Giant Green Turtle Bottle Cap Mosaic
Thousands of bottle caps brought from home by the students were put together to create a giant piece of artwork. This stands as clear proof of community power: many small actions by young heroes can create a massive change for the Earth.
3. The Meaning of the “Hero Passport” and Achievement Stamps
Seeing the sweat, the bright smiles, and the pure pride of the children holding their “Hero Passport” filled with achievement stamps, the Green Turtle Hero team knew that the seeds of love for the Earth had truly been sown.
Environmental education through hands-on experiences does more than just help children understand waste recycling; it builds self-confidence, sparks creativity, and fosters a strong sense of community responsibility (CSR).
